5 to 9 June 2013 in Berlin
500 designers, 30 nations, 11,000 square meters, one airport – in the former hangars of the historical airport Berlin Tempelhof, the DMY – the International Design Festival 2013 – presents experimental prototypes and inspirative objects of more than 500 designers.
On 11,000 square meters the exhibition will show new products of internationally known designers, design studios and companies as well as experimental prototypes of upcoming new talents.
As another highlight, 40 Berliner creative designers invite you to the Long Night of Design Studios on 6 June, presented by “Create Berlin”.
In the center of attention this year is the neighboring country Poland, which is represented at the DMY with 40 design studios, companies or design colleges to allow an overview over its current design output.
The opening of the 11th edition of the DMY International Design Festival on 5 June 2013 at 7 pm at the airport Tempelhof also marks the launch of the Berlin Design Week 2013 with many other events all over Berlin.
2012, the festival attracted over 35,000 international visitors. Due to the close dialogue with the design sector, the global and local network as well as many years of experience with the realization of design events, the DMY Berlin has developed into one of the most important design institutions of Germany.
By the way: At the festival the applicants or the German Design Award 2013 will also display their designs; the winners however will be honored in a special ceremony in Berlin on 12 September 2013. The award ranks as the highest honor in the field of product and communication design and is distributed by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
